The Government Council for the Energy and Raw Materials Strategy of the Czech Republic was established by Government Resolution No. 172 from 9th of March 2011 as a permanent government advisory body in the field of energy and raw materials policy of the state.
The Chairman of the Government Council is the Minister of Industry and Trade Jiří Havlíček, the first Vice-Chairman is the Minister of the Environment Richard Brabec, the second Vice-Chairman is the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Lenka Kovačovská.
The main objective of the Government Council is to provide support for the government with regards to preparation and discussion of conceptual and strategic documents relevant for the economy of the Czech Republic, with a special focus on ensuring the energy and raw materials base for future economic development.
